Allegiant and Sun Country Join Forces - Big Changes Coming?

So Allegiant just bought Sun Country for $1.5 billion and now they're the 8th largest airline in the US. That's pretty wild, right? They've got almost 175 destinations and over 650 routes combined. I'm curious how this'll change things for both airlines. I mean, they're gonna keep operating under their own names for now, but eventually, Sun Country will become Allegiant.

I guess Allegiant's really doubling down on being the biggest leisure airline. Makes sense with all the vacation spots they fly to. But what does this mean for us passengers? Are we gonna see better deals, or maybe more routes to choose from? Also, do you guys think this merger will change the service quality or experience onboard?

And what about the employees? I hope there won't be too many layoffs. Airlines always say mergers are about growth, but I feel like sometimes it just means cutting costs. Anyway, anyone have thoughts on this? How do you guys feel about Allegiant's big move here?
I'm curious if we'll see any changes in the flight schedules. Allegiant and Sun Country focus on different regions, so maybe we'll get more options. As for service quality, I wouldn't expect a huge shift. Both airlines are pretty no-frills, though maybe combining resources will improve things over time. The employee situation is tricky. Mergers often lead to layoffs, unfortunately. Hopefully, they manage it better. Anyone know if they plan to expand into new markets with this move?
I'm really curious about how this will affect route options too. Allegiant's always been about those direct flights to vacation spots, and Sun Country has some unique destinations of its own. If they combine their strengths, maybe we'll see some cool new routes pop up. As for service quality, I'd keep my expectations in check. Mergers are usually more about efficiency than improving the passenger experience. Fingers crossed it doesn't result in job losses, though. That part always sucks.
