Air Tetiaroa Selling Their BN-2Ts - What's Next?

So, I just read that Air Tetiaroa in French Polynesia is selling both of their BN-2T Islanders. Kind of interesting, right? These planes are pretty iconic for short-haul flights and are perfect for island hopping. I mean, they're versatile and can operate on short runways, which seems ideal for places like French Polynesia with all those small islands.

But why sell them? Are they upgrading their fleet? Maybe they're looking into something more modern or efficient. Or maybe it's just not cost-effective to keep them anymore. Honestly, the BN-2T is a bit of an older model, so maybe maintenance is getting too pricey. I'm curious what they'll replace them with, if anything. Twin Otters maybe?

Anyone got thoughts on what this means for Air Tetiaroa? Do you think this could impact their operations, or is it just a regular fleet update? And if they do get new planes, what models would you guys like to see them go for? Would love to hear your takes!
Selling the BN-2Ts could mean they're eyeing something newer and more efficient, like you said. Twin Otters would be a solid guess. They're great for short runways too and have a good track record in similar environments. I wouldn't be surprised if maintenance costs are pushing the decision. Those older models can be a pain financially. Be interesting to see if they go for something with hybrid tech or just stick to the tried and true. Anyone know if they've announced any replacement plans yet?
I think selling the BN-2Ts might be about cutting maintenance costs. Those Islanders are reliable but getting old. Maybe they're looking at newer planes like the Cessna Grand Caravan? It's a bit more modern and efficient. Plus, it's got the range and payload capacity for those island routes. I wonder if this might change their flight frequency or routes. Anyone know if Air Tetiaroa's hinted at any specific direction for their fleet strategy?
If they're ditching the BN-2Ts, I wouldn't be surprised if they're eyeing something like the Twin Otter or even the Kodiak 100. Both are pretty solid for island-hopping. I flew on a Twin Otter in the Maldives, and it handled those short runways like a champ. Maintenance on older planes can be a killer, so maybe it's just time to modernize. Wonder if this'll change their routes or just smooth out operations. Any locals know more?
I wonder if they're going electric or hybrid with their new planes. There's been a lot of buzz about more sustainable aircraft lately, especially for short regional routes. Wouldn't be surprised if they're considering options like that. It could be a great move for them, considering the environmental impact. Plus, if they do go electric, it'd be interesting to see how that works with the infrastructure in French Polynesia. Anyone know if there are any electric models that can handle those short runways?
I think it might be a good move if they're going for something like the Twin Otter or Kodiak 100. They're better suited for modern needs and have more efficient engines. Plus, with all the talk about sustainability, maybe they're considering hybrid or electric options? That'd be a big shift, but makes sense for their short routes. Also, the Cessna Grand Caravan could be a contender. It's versatile and reliable for those island hops. Wonder what their passengers think about the change.
