What's Going on with Delta's New A350-900s?

So, I heard Delta's getting a few more A350-900s soon. Apparently, they're adding like 12 of them to their fleet, and these are supposed to be straight from Airbus, not secondhand. I think it's a pretty nice move, especially since the A350 is such a great aircraft for long-haul comfort and efficiency. But, I'm curious how this'll impact their existing long-haul routes. Are they planning to open new routes, or is it more about replacing older aircraft?

I remember reading somewhere that these planes might be part of Delta's plan to gradually phase out some older 767s. Not sure how accurate that is, though. Anyone have more insight on this? Also, do you think this'll lead to any significant changes in their transpacific or transatlantic services? Let's chat about it!
I think you're spot on about the A350s replacing older 767s. The A350-900s are way more fuel-efficient, and airlines are really focusing on cutting costs and emissions these days. As for new routes, I wouldn't be surprised if Delta uses them to boost their transpacific flights. There's a lot of demand in that area. I remember when Delta first started using the A350s, they really pushed for improved passenger comfort. So, any shift in routes might also be about boosting their premium services.
