Just got a Qantas drink stirrer set - collectible or not?

Started by Henry_Tarmac 3 weeks ago 3 replies 49 views
So, I was cleaning out the garage last weekend and stumbled upon a small box labeled 'aviation stuff.' Inside, I found a set of four Qantas drink stirrers. They're these cool little plastic things with the kangaroo logo on top. I think they might be from the 1980s? Not sure how they ended up in my possession!

I'm not really an aviation collector, but these look kinda neat. I know some people collect airline china and cutlery, but what about drink stirrers? Are these worth holding onto or should I just toss them?

Would love to hear from anyone who knows if these have any value or if they're just fun little novelties. Also, any tips on how to clean them without damaging the logo? Thanks!
I'd hang onto them. Airline memorabilia like that can be pretty cool, especially if they're from the 80s. People do collect all sorts of airline stuff, and drink stirrers are definitely part of that. They're not likely to be worth a ton, but you never know with collectors. For cleaning, just use a soft cloth with mild soap and water. Avoid anything too abrasive so you don't mess up the logo.
I'd keep them! Airline drink stirrers can be collectible, especially if they're vintage like those from the 80s. Qantas ones with the kangaroo logo are pretty iconic. You never know, they might gain value over time. To clean them, maybe just use some mild soap and water with a soft cloth. Avoid anything too harsh that could scratch off the logo. If you're not a collector, maybe try listing them online? Someone out there might love them.
