O'Leary's Early Morning Beer Ban Idea - What Do You Think?

Started by JFKAirside13 3 weeks ago 3 replies 46 views
So Michael O'Leary is at it again, stirring the pot with his latest idea. He's saying we should have tougher rules on booze at airports, especially for those early morning flights. I mean, who really needs a pint at 5 a.m., right? On one hand, I kinda get his point. You don't want to deal with rowdy passengers who've had a bit too much before even boarding. But on the flip side, isn't it more about personal choice? Some people might just want to relax with a drink before a long flight.

O'Leary's been vocal about this topic before, so it's not exactly new coming from him. But it makes me wonder, is this actually a problem? Are morning drinkers causing chaos on flights, or is this just something that bugs him? I think airports and airlines could do more to manage it, but an outright ban seems a bit much.

What do you all think? Should there be stricter limits on alcohol at airports, or is O'Leary overreacting? And if you've got any crazy stories about early morning airport antics, I'd love to hear 'em!
I get where O'Leary's coming from. Early morning flights can be rough, and a drunk passenger makes it worse for everyone. But isn't it the airport's job to manage how much people drink? I mean, they could just stop serving people who look like they're overdoing it. Plus, not everyone's getting smashed at 5 a.m.; some just want a drink to chill. I don't think a ban is necessary. Maybe just better monitoring. Anyone ever actually seen a flight get delayed 'cause of morning drinkers?
Honestly, I think O'Leary's got a point, but a full ban feels extreme. It's not like every passenger is downing beers at 5 a.m. Most people just want to chill before a flight. Maybe airports should focus on cutting off people who seem too tipsy instead of banning everyone. Anyway, I've never seen any chaos from morning drinkers myself. Anyone here actually experienced some wild pre-flight antics because of this?
