B-52 Stratofortress Getting New Engines - What Do You Think?

So, I just read that the B-52 Stratofortress is moving forward with an engine upgrade. The U.S. Air Force's program to replace the engines has hit a big milestone - the Critical Design Review. This means they're ready to start upgrading the aircraft to the new B-52J configuration. Boeing and Rolls-Royce are in on this, which is pretty cool considering their history with engines and aircraft.

I think it's about time the B-52 got some new engines. I mean, these planes have been flying since the 1950s! From what I understand, the new engines should make them more fuel-efficient and extend their service life. But I wonder if this will change their performance much?

I'm also curious about what you all think this means for the future of the B-52. Do you think these upgrades will keep them flying for another few decades? And how do you feel about keeping such an old airframe in service with new tech? Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
Honestly, it's impressive that the B-52 is still going strong after all these years. New engines should definitely help with fuel efficiency, which is huge for long missions. As for performance, I doubt it'll turn the B-52 into a modern stealth bomber or anything, but more reliable and cost-effective flights are a big win. It's wild to think these planes might be flying for almost 100 years if they keep up with upgrades. Wonder how long it'll be before we see a totally new bomber take its place?
