Manchester to Algiers Flights Starting Soon!

Hey everyone, just heard that Manchester Airport is adding a new route to Algiers, and it's starting in June 2026. Air Algerie is going to operate this route with Boeing aircraft, which is pretty cool. They're planning two flights a week, so it's not a daily thing, but still a nice option for anyone looking to head to Algiers or beyond.

I think it's great to see more connections to Africa from the UK. It's a bit of an under-served market compared to other regions. Wondering how popular this route will be, though. Do you think there's enough demand for flights to Algiers from Manchester? Or is this more about connecting flights and giving folks more options to travel deeper into Africa?

Also, any thoughts on why they chose Algiers specifically? I guess it's a good hub for North Africa, but not sure if there are business ties or tourism factors driving this choice. Would love to hear what you all think about this new addition!
Algiers is a solid choice! It's pretty central for North Africa, so it's probably about connecting passengers onwards. Plus, Algeria's economy is growing, so might be some business traffic there. Honestly, I'm surprised it took this long for a direct route from Manchester. The UK has a big Algerian community, so that could help fill seats too. But yeah, two flights a week seems cautious. Maybe they're testing the waters first before ramping up.
Two flights a week sounds decent for testing the waters. Algiers could be a strategic choice for its geographic location and emerging business scene. Not sure about the tourism angle, but Algeria's got some stunning landscapes and history that might attract adventurous travelers. As for demand, Manchester's got a diverse population, so maybe there's enough interest. Curious if they'll consider upping the frequency if the route takes off.
