China Southern Airlines plans to boost funds by $2.2bn - thoughts?

Hey everyone, just read that China Southern Airlines is planning to raise up to $2.2 billion. It's a pretty big move, and I'm curious about what this means for them. I mean, that's a lot of money! I guess they might be looking to expand their fleet or maybe pay off some debts.

Honestly, with the way the aviation industry has been hit these past few years, it's not that surprising they're trying to boost their finances. I wonder if this means we'll see more routes opening up or maybe some upgrades to their current services. Personally, I've always thought they could use more international presence.

Does anyone know more about what the funds will be used for? Also, do you think this will help them compete better with other major airlines in the region like Cathay or Singapore Airlines? It'd be interesting to hear your thoughts on whether this will change the landscape over in Asia or if it's more of a catching-up move. Let me know what you think!
