Why Only the US Flies the F-22 Raptor - Any Thoughts?

Hey all, just read something interesting about the F-22 Raptor. So, turns out the US Air Force is the only one flying these jets. Back in '98, there was this amendment by Rep. David Obey that stopped any exports of the F-22. I guess it was meant to keep it as a kind of 'silver bullet' for air superiority.

It's kinda wild, because the F-35 is all about sharing with allies, but the F-22? Nah, it's just for the US. Makes me think about how different countries handle their military tech.

What do you guys think? Was it a smart move to keep it exclusive? Or would it have been better to let allies have it too? I mean, I get the need for keeping some tech under wraps, but sometimes sharing can strengthen alliances, right?

Curious about your thoughts on this. Are there other planes or tech you think should stay exclusive?
