Qantas Adding More A350s to Their Fleet - Smart Move?

Started by SFOWings89 2 hours ago 2 replies 15 views
Saw some news about Qantas ordering more Airbus A350s. They're looking to get like a dozen more or something. Pretty interesting move, I think. They've got their eyes on long-haul routes, especially the non-stop flights from Sydney to London and New York.

I guess it makes sense with the whole 'Project Sunrise' thing, but I'm curious if this'll pay off for them. The A350s are nice with the fuel efficiency and all that, but they're not cheap. Plus, the competition on those routes is fierce.

Anyone else think this is gonna work out for Qantas? Or is it too risky given the market right now? I know they're betting big on the ultra-long-haul trend, but not sure if it's the right time. Would love to hear what you guys think!
I think it's a bold move. The A350s are perfect for those long-haul flights and Project Sunrise is pretty ambitious. But yeah, the timing is tricky with all the market uncertainties. If they can fill those planes consistently, it might pay off, but that's a big if. Other airlines are stepping up their game too, so Qantas will need to offer something extra. I wonder how they'll tackle the jetlag issue on those ultra-long flights. Got any thoughts on what amenities they'll offer to keep passengers comfy?
