The A380-900 That Never Took Off - What's Your Take?

So, I was thinking about the Airbus A380-900 recently. Remember when there was all this hype, and it was supposed to be even bigger than the A380-800? It's wild that no airlines ended up ordering it. I mean, the A380-800 itself is already a beast, but can you imagine something even larger flying around? Hard to believe that the program just never expanded beyond the -800 version.

I guess with the way the aviation market has shifted, especially with airlines favoring more fuel-efficient, smaller twin-engine planes, it's not super surprising. But still, it's kind of a bummer for those of us who love to see these giant aircraft in the skies.

What do you guys think? Was the A380-900 ever really viable, or was it just a pipe dream from the start? And do you think we'll ever see another attempt at a super-jumbo aircraft like this in the future, or is the era of the super-large jets pretty much over? Curious to hear your thoughts!
