Boeing 777-300ER Production Ends - What's Next for the Fleet?

So, it looks like Boeing wrapped up production of the 777-300ER in late 2024, with the last one delivered to Ethiopian Airlines. Honestly, kinda feels like the end of an era. The 777-300ER has been a workhorse for so many airlines around the world. I guess with the new variants coming, it was bound to happen sooner or later.

The 777-300ER has been around since the early 2000s, and it's been pretty reliable. It's crazy to think about how many long-haul routes this plane has covered. But I'm curious about what happens next. Will airlines keep flying these for another decade, or will they start phasing them out sooner for newer models like the 777X or even the A350?

And what's everyone think about Ethiopian Airlines snagging the last one? Seems like a good fit since they're expanding a lot. But I wonder how much longer they'll keep using them before moving on to something else.

Anyone have any thoughts on how long these 777-300ERs will stay in service? And are the new variants like the 777X really going to live up to the legacy of the 300ER?
I bet the 777-300ERs will stick around for a while, especially with airlines trying to maximize ROI on their fleets. These planes are workhorses and can keep flying for decades with proper maintenance. As for the 777X, it's got big shoes to fill. It promises better efficiency, but it'll take time to prove itself. Ethiopian snagging the last one makes sense-they're growing fast and need reliable aircraft. I think we'll see the 777-300ERs and 777Xs flying side by side for some time.
