What's Up with Alaska Airlines Trying Out the Embraer E175?

So, I just read that Alaska Airlines is considering expanding their use of Embraer E175s in their fleet. Apparently, they're looking to increase their regional routes, especially in areas where larger jets aren't as practical. I think it's a smart move since the E175s are known for being pretty efficient on fuel and have decent range for regional hops.

Plus, they offer a nice passenger experience for a regional jet, with a 2-2 seating layout-no middle seats! I wonder how this will affect their operations in smaller airports. Could we see more regional routes popping up? Or maybe they're thinking of replacing some of their older regional jets? Anyone have more insight on this? Seems like a pretty strategic shift to me. What do y'all think about Alaska using more E175s?
Makes sense for Alaska to push the E175s more. They're perfect for smaller markets where you can't fill a big plane. Plus, those 2-2 seats are way better than being stuck in a middle seat. I remember flying on one and it was surprisingly comfy for a regional jet. Wonder if they'll phase out some older Q400s? Those are workhorses but a bit noisy compared to the Embraers. Curious if this means more flights to places like Boise or Spokane.
I think adding more E175s to Alaska's fleet could definitely open up new routes to smaller airports that don't get much service right now. The E175s are great for those short hops, and with their fuel efficiency, it makes economic sense too. I wonder if they're planning to phase out some of the older Q400s or if this is just about expanding options. Anyone know if this means new destinations or just more frequency on existing routes?
