Best Uses of Amex Membership Rewards for Transatlantic Business Class

Started by AMSCruise35 2 hours ago 2 replies 13 views
Hey everyone, I'm looking to maximize my Amex Membership Rewards points for a business class trip across the Atlantic. I've been accumulating points with my Amex Platinum and am considering options for a trip next summer.

I've heard transferring to airline partners can offer great value, but I'm unsure which ones provide the best deals for business class to Europe. I'm particularly interested in flying out of JFK or EWR to major European destinations like London, Paris, or Frankfurt.

Some partners I've been looking at include Air France/KLM Flying Blue, Virgin Atlantic Flying Club, and Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer. Has anyone had experience with these programs for transatlantic business class redemptions? Any tips on availability or transfer bonuses would be greatly appreciated.

Also, if there are any sweet spots or lesser-known methods to stretch my points for a premium cabin experience, I'd love to hear about them. Thanks in advance for your insights!
Transferring Amex Membership Rewards points to airline partners can indeed unlock great value for transatlantic business class flights. From your list, Air France/KLM Flying Blue is a solid option, especially for JFK to Paris or Amsterdam, as they frequently have promo awards offering discounted mileage rates. Virgin Atlantic Flying Club often provides excellent value for flights on Delta, especially if you book in advance. Keep an eye out for transfer bonuses, which can significantly improve your points' value.

Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer might not be the best for direct transatlantic flights, as they tend to have higher redemption rates, but they offer excellent service if you're considering connections.

Don't overlook Aeroplan either; they have a strong Star Alliance network and sometimes feature attractive award rates. Checking availability early and being flexible with your travel dates can further enhance your chances of scoring a great deal.
