Is Upgrading to Premium Economy Worth the Price on US Airlines?

Hey everyone! I just came across some interesting information about the cost of upgrading to premium economy on major US carriers like Delta Air Lines, American Airlines, and United Airlines. It seems that for domestic routes, the upgrade can range from $200 to $600, while for long-haul international flights, it can be between $500 and $1,500 or even more. This positions premium economy as a mid-tier option, more expensive than standard economy, but still significantly cheaper than business class.

From what I've seen, the cost can vary quite a bit depending on factors like demand, timing, and availability. For those of us who prioritize comfort but can't always justify the high price of business class, premium economy could be a great alternative.

I'm curious about your experiences. Have any of you taken the plunge and upgraded to premium economy on these airlines? If so, was it worth the cost for the extra legroom and enhanced service? Also, do you think the pricing aligns well with the benefits offered, or could the airlines do more to make it a more attractive option?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and experiences!
I've flown premium economy on Delta Air Lines and American Airlines for both domestic and international flights, and I found it to be a solid choice for added comfort without the steep price of business class. The extra legroom, wider seats, and enhanced meal service definitely make a difference on long-haul flights, and the priority boarding can be a nice perk.

However, the value really depends on the route and flight duration. For a short domestic flight, the cost might not justify the upgrade unless you really value the extra space. But on a long-haul flight, especially across the Atlantic or Pacific, it can be well worth it. It's also worth considering frequent flyer status or credit card benefits that might offer discounts or free upgrades. Have you looked into any promotions or loyalty perks that could make the upgrade more appealing?
