Capturing the Impact of Snowstorms on New York's Airports

Hey everyone! As many of you might have heard, the recent snowstorm has brought operations at JFK, Newark, and LaGuardia to a standstill. It's incredible how such weather events can completely disrupt air travel in one of the busiest airspaces in the world. This got me thinking about the unique photographic opportunities that arise during such weather events.

For those of us who love aviation photography, snowstorms can present both challenges and opportunities. The dramatic scenes of grounded aircraft, snow-covered runways, and the efforts of ground crews working tirelessly to clear the snow can make for some compelling shots. However, the safety concerns and restricted access during such weather can make it tricky to capture these moments.

Have any of you managed to photograph aircraft operations during a snowstorm? What are some of the techniques or equipment you use to handle the challenging conditions? Also, how do you balance safety and getting the perfect shot? Looking forward to hearing your experiences and seeing some of your incredible photos!
