Personally, I've found that flying American Airlines' Flagship Business Class from the U.S. to Japan is a great use of miles, especially when you can find flights for 60,000 miles one-way. But I'm sure there are other routes that offer great value too.

It's often possible to book Etihad's Business Class for 70,000 miles one-way. The experience aboard their Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner is particularly impressive. Also, don't overlook American Airlines' own transcontinental service between New York (JFK) and Los Angeles (LAX) or San Francisco (SFO) in their A321T First Class. It can be a great use of 50,000 miles for a domestic flight with an international-level product. Has anyone else found any hidden gems on less popular routes or with other partner airlines?
