So, just saw that Delta's taking over Spirit's old gates at ATL. The city council approved it for $12 million. It's gates C4 and C6 in Concourse C, plus some ticketing and support areas. Spirit stopped flying from Atlanta back in May, so I guess Delta saw an opportunity here.
Honestly, I'm not surprised. Delta's huge at ATL, and this just gives them even more of a foothold. Wonder how this'll affect the other airlines at ATL though. Delta's already got a pretty dominant presence there, so will it just squeeze the smaller guys even more? Or maybe it'll just make things more efficient for Delta's operations.
What do you all think? Is this good news for travelers flying through Atlanta? And do you think this means Delta's planning to expand even more at ATL? Curious to hear your thoughts!
