Exploring 1980s Airline Amenity Kits - Worth Collecting?

Started by Catherine_Flyer • 2 weeks ago • 2 replies • 45 views
So I was cleaning out my attic and stumbled upon a box of old airline amenity kits from the 1980s. We're talking Pan Am, Eastern, and even some Lufthansa ones. I didn't even know my parents kept these! They still have the original toothbrushes, sleep masks, and some weirdly branded lotions.

I'm curious if anyone else collects these or knows if they're worth anything? They seem like a cool piece of airline history, but I'm not sure if there's much of a market for them or if they're just nostalgic junk. I'd love to hear if anyone else is into these and how you display them. Are there any specific kits that are super rare or valuable?

I'm thinking about keeping them as a quirky display in my home office-might be a fun conversation starter!
I'd totally keep them! Those kits are like little time capsules. Pan Am stuff especially can be pretty collectible. I remember seeing some go for a decent price on eBay, but it really depends on the condition and rarity. The branding on those old items is nostalgic for sure. If you have a Pan Am or TWA kit, those might be worth more. I'd say display them in your office-definitely a conversation starter. Ever thought about hitting up a collector's forum or auction site to gauge interest?
