So I'm thinking about trying to get Alaska MVP Gold status next year. I've heard it's worth it for the upgrades and bonus miles, but I'm not sure about the best way to go about it. I do a fair amount of travel on the West Coast, mostly between Seattle, San Francisco, and LA.
I know you can qualify with either miles or segments, but I'm not sure which would be more efficient for my travel patterns. Also, does anyone know if booking through partners like American Airlines would count towards status if I'm crediting to Alaska Mileage Plan?
And what about those status match challenges? I've got Delta Silver right now, so maybe that could help me get a quicker jumpstart?
Would love to hear any tips or strategies on how to make this happen without breaking the bank. Thanks in advance!
