Stumbled Upon a Box of Airline Wing Pins - Keep or Trade?

Started by Daniel2004 • 2 weeks ago • 5 replies • 61 views
So, I was cleaning out my garage this weekend and found a box full of airline wing pins from the 80s and 90s. Totally forgot I had them! I've got pins from airlines like TWA, Pan Am, and even some from airlines that don't exist anymore. They're all in pretty good condition, but I'm not sure if I should keep them as part of my collection or see if anyone's interested in trading.

I've heard that some wing pins can be pretty sought after. Does anyone know if these types of pins are worth anything or if there's a market for trading? If you've got experience with airline wing pins, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Also, if anyone's interested in trading, let me know what you've got! Maybe we can swap some cool stuff. Thanks!
It really depends. There are a lot of them on eBay and they aren't worth a whole lot. But keep them and enjoy having them around!
I'd hang onto a few favorites, especially from airlines that don't exist anymore. Those can be really special. But there's definitely a market for trading. Check out some collector forums or even eBay to get an idea of what they're going for. Sometimes, nostalgia can drive up the value a bit. I recently saw a Pan Am pin go for a decent amount. If you're into it, trading could be fun too. Do you have any duplicates? Those might be good to trade.
I'd say hold onto the ones from defunct airlines like TWA and Pan Am. They might not be worth a fortune now, but they could appreciate in value over time. Plus, they're a cool piece of aviation history. For trading, check out sites like eBay to get a sense of what people are looking for. Also, you might find some dedicated Facebook groups or forums where collectors hang out. Could be a fun way to swap and see what's out there!
I'd definitely keep a few of those, especially from defunct airlines like TWA and Pan Am. They're like little pieces of history. I remember my first flight on TWA as a kid and getting a wing pin. Still have it! There's a niche market for these, but don't expect a fortune. If you're looking to trade, try airline memorabilia groups online. You might find someone who's got something worth swapping for. Any rare ones in there?
