Old Airline Cutlery - Hidden Treasures or Just Junk?

Started by DonnaShutter29 • 2 weeks ago • 3 replies • 42 views
So, I was cleaning out my attic and stumbled upon a box of old airline cutlery. Totally forgot I had it. Not sure how it ended up there, but now I'm curious if this stuff is collectible or just, well, old junk.

Got pieces from airlines like Pan Am, TWA, and even some random ones from airlines that don't even exist anymore. They're mostly stainless steel, with some plastic utensils mixed in. A few even have the airline logo, which is kinda cool.

Does anyone here collect this kind of stuff? Are there specific pieces or airlines I should keep an eye on? I'm not looking to sell them right away, just wondering if it's worth holding onto or if they're just taking up space. Would love to hear if anyone's got a collection going or knows a bit more about the history behind these items!
I'd say hold onto those, especially the ones from Pan Am and TWA. Those airlines have a bit of a cult following. The logos can make them more desirable to collectors. It's kinda like having a piece of aviation history. I've got a few spoons from Pan Am myself, picked them up at a flea market, and they always spark a conversation. If you're not in a rush to clear space, they might be worth more as time goes on.
I'd definitely hang onto the Pan Am and TWA stuff. Those logos can make the cutlery pretty collectible, like little pieces of aviation history. Some folks are really into airline memorabilia, especially from iconic brands that aren't around anymore. If you've got utensils from airlines that are defunct, even better. Might be worth checking out some online collector groups or auctions to see what similar items are going for. Who knows, you might have some hidden gems in that box!
