What's Up with United's Massive Boeing 737 MAX Order?

So, I just read that United Airlines is going all in on Boeing's 737 MAX series. They're apparently ordering a whopping 110 of these planes. From what I gather, it's part of United's plan to refresh their fleet and boost efficiency. I guess it makes sense considering the fuel savings and all, but I'm curious about the timing. Given all the drama with the MAX grounding a while back, it seems like a bold move.

Does anyone know if these are going to replace older models, or are they expanding their routes too? I think they might have a plan to increase their market share on domestic routes, but who knows? Also, are they getting a mix of MAX 8s and MAX 9s or sticking to one? Would love to hear what you all think about this huge order and what it means for United's future.
Yeah, it's a pretty big order. I think they're definitely replacing older models, especially the older 757s and maybe some 767s. The MAX series is way more fuel-efficient, so it makes sense to swap out the old gas guzzlers. As for expanding routes, probably a bit of both. United's been trying to beef up their domestic presence. I think they're going for a mix of MAX 8s and 9s. The 8s are great for shorter routes, while the 9s can handle longer flights. Curious how this'll play out for their international routes too.
