Qantas New A350-1000 Order: Game Changer or Not?

So, Qantas just placed an order for a bunch of A350-1000s, and I'm curious what you all think. They're planning to use them for Project Sunrise flights, which are supposed to be these ultra-long-haul routes from Sydney to places like London and New York. Pretty ambitious, if you ask me. I mean, non-stop flights for 20ish hours? That's wild.

I guess the big question is, will it pay off? The A350-1000 has the range and efficiency, but it's a huge investment. Plus, there's the whole passenger experience thing on such a long flight. Will people actually prefer these non-stops over breaking up their journey?

Also, what does this mean for the competition? Are other airlines going to follow suit? I'm not sure if we'll see a shift towards more ultra-long-haul flights or if Qantas is just testing the waters. Any thoughts?
