United's Big Gamble: A321XLR Takes on Transatlantic Routes

So, United Airlines is making a bold move with their A321XLR starting December 1, 2026. They've picked the Washington Dulles to Amsterdam and Dublin routes for this new bird. What's interesting here is that they're packing these planes with a lot of premium seats. It's not just about replacing the old 757s. Seems like they're really aiming to grab those business travelers who want more comfort on these long hauls.

Honestly, it's a smart move, especially since those routes have been tough for Air Canada. Maybe United sees an opportunity to scoop up some market share. But it's definitely a gamble, right? The A321XLR is a narrowbody, so I wonder how passengers will feel about the space compared to a widebody like the 787.

Do you guys think United can pull this off? Will the premium-heavy approach be enough to lure high-paying customers away from other airlines? And how do you feel about flying narrowbodies across the Atlantic? Personally, I think it's cool to see this kind of innovation, but I'd miss the space of a widebody. Let's hear your thoughts!
