Rayani Air Eyeing a 2027 Comeback with A330s?

Started by LensFlight67 • 1 months ago • 4 replies • 68 views
So, I just read that Rayani Air is planning a comeback in 2027 and they're looking at using A330-300s. For those who don't remember, Rayani Air was Malaysia's first Islamic-compliant airline, but they shut down back in 2016. Seems like they're aiming to make a return with a long-haul fleet this time.

Honestly, I'm a bit curious about how they're going to pull this off. I mean, starting up again after more than a decade isn't a small feat. And with A330-300s? That's a pretty big aircraft to start with. I guess they're aiming for some serious long-haul routes.

But here's what I'm wondering - does anyone know if there's a market demand for another long-haul carrier out of Malaysia? Especially after all the changes in the industry post-pandemic. And what about their previous issues? Think they've got them sorted out?

Would love to hear what you guys think. Is this ambition or just a pipe dream? And who else is excited about the potential return of another Malaysian airline?
Wonder how they're gonna tackle the competition. Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia X already dominate the long-haul market out of Malaysia. Rayani Air will need a solid strategy to differentiate themselves. Plus, the A330-300 is a big commitment. They'd better have the financial backing to sustain it. As for demand, post-pandemic travel's still unpredictable. Maybe they're banking on religious tourism for a niche market? But yeah, their old issues need addressing first. Curious to see if they can pull it off or if it's just wishful thinking.
Honestly, I'm skeptical. Jumping back in with A330s is a bold move, especially with the competition. Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia X have solidified their spots in the market. I remember the issues Rayani had before they shut down, like operational hiccups and financial troubles. Hope they've learned from the past. But yeah, with the pandemic changing travel patterns and all, it's tricky to predict if there's enough demand. Maybe they'll target niche markets or underserved routes? Curious how they'll position themselves this time.
Wow, that's a blast from the past! It's gonna be a challenge for Rayani Air to make a mark with the A330-300s, especially since Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia X are already well-established. And let's not forget, the aviation landscape has changed a lot post-pandemic. I wonder if they'll focus on niche markets or underserved routes to stand out. Anyone know if they've secured any financial backing yet? That'll be crucial for their success, I'd think.
