Hey all, just read that Emirates is keeping their A380s out of Washington Dulles and Dsseldorf for most of the winter. For DC, the A380 won't be back at all till after winter, and Dsseldorf will only see it for a couple of months. Kinda a bummer if you ask me. Those double-deckers are always a sight to see!
I guess it makes sense if they're not getting the passenger numbers they need for these routes. Still, I wonder how this'll affect travelers who were hoping for that A380 experience. Do you guys think it's more about demand or maybe just part of their broader fleet strategy? Plus, with all the changes in travel demand, it seems airlines are constantly shuffling things around.
Anyone know if Emirates is planning to use another aircraft on these routes, or are they cutting flights entirely? I'm curious if they're going for smaller planes or just less frequency. Would love to hear your thoughts on what's driving this move and how it might shake up these routes. Let me know what you all think!
