Hey folks, I'm planning a spotting trip to Kuala Lumpur International (KUL) soon and I'm trying to figure out the best lens options for wide-angle shots. I want to capture those epic runway views with the airport's unique background. I've got a Nikon D750, and I'm considering the Nikon 16-35mm f/4 or maybe the Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8. Has anyone shot wide-angle at KUL before? Any thoughts on these lenses or other recommendations? I know the weather can be unpredictable there, so I'm also wondering if certain times of day work better for lighting. Appreciate any insights or tips you all might have!
Spotting at Kuala Lumpur (KUL) - Best Lenses for Wide Shots?
I'd go with the Nikon 16-35mm f/4. It's a solid choice for wide shots, especially if you're after the big runway views with the skyline. I've used it at a few airports, and it handles the lighting changes pretty well. For KUL, early morning or late afternoon might give you the best light, but watch out for those sudden rain showers. They can sneak up on you! What time of year are you going? That could also affect your lighting options.
