Spotting at Seoul Incheon (ICN) - Best Times for Sunset Shots?

Started by Wings9438 • 1 months ago • 3 replies • 56 views
Hey folks, I've been planning a trip to Seoul and really want to get some killer sunset shots at ICN. I've heard the light can be pretty amazing during golden hour, but not sure when's the best time to be there for those perfect hues. Anyone got tips on specific spots within the airport premises or nearby areas where the sunset views are top-notch? Also, any advice on dealing with security while setting up equipment? I usually shoot with a Canon 90D and a 70-200mm lens, so any particular settings you'd recommend for this scenario? Would love to hear from anyone who's been there and captured some great evening shots. Thanks!
Golden hour at ICN is usually about an hour before sunset. Check an app like Golden Hour One for exact times when you're there. For spots, the parking lots on the west side of the airport can offer some great angles. Just be mindful of security; they can be strict, so keep your gear visible and be friendly if approached. With your 70-200mm, start around f/8 for sharpness and adjust ISO as needed. Have fun!
I shot there last year, and the spot near the Hyatt Hotel gives a pretty sweet view. Golden hour is key, as you mentioned, but it can vary a bit, so keep an eye on the weather app. For security, I didn't have any issues, but always good to have your ID and be respectful if anyone asks questions. Your 70-200mm should be perfect. Maybe try f/8 to f/11 for nice sharpness during sunset. Have fun!
