Avianca's Back in Caracas & New Maracaibo Route Too!

So, Avianca's got some news! They've just brought back the daily flights from Bogot to Caracas. This started up again on September 1st after they checked out all the operational and security stuff with the authorities. Seems like a solid move considering how things have been in the past.

Plus, they've added a new daily route from Bogot to Maracaibo, which kicked off on August 28th. It's pretty cool to see them strengthening the air links between Colombia and Venezuela like this. I guess it kinda makes sense with the political climate getting a bit better recently.

Honestly, I'm curious how this will affect both business and tourism between the two countries. Do you guys think this means we'll see more airlines doing the same soon? And how's this gonna impact the local airlines already flying these routes?

I'm kinda surprised it took this long for Avianca to make a move like this. With the political climate easing up, you'd think more airlines would jump in. I mean, there's gotta be a decent demand for business travel and visiting family between Colombia and Venezuela. I wonder if local airlines like Laser Airlines are gonna feel the pinch now. They've had the Caracas-Bogot route to themselves for a while. More competition might mean better prices for travelers though, which is always a good thing!
