Spotting at Frankfurt (FRA) - How to Deal with Security?

Hey folks, I've been spotting at FRA a few times, and every time I feel like I'm playing a game of hide and seek with security. Anyone else run into this? I get that they're just doing their job, but it's kind of a pain when you're just trying to get some good shots.

I usually hang out around the viewing platform at Terminal 2, which is great, but sometimes I want to get a bit closer to the action. I've tried some spots near the perimeter fence, but I'm always worried I'm gonna get asked to move.

Does anyone have tips for dealing with security politely? Or maybe some less risky spots I haven't thought of? I'd love to hear how others handle this, especially if you've managed to find that sweet spot between getting good angles and not getting kicked out!

Yeah, totally been there. FRA's security can be tricky. Best bet is to keep it chill-if they approach, just be friendly and explain you're taking photos. I've heard the spot near Zeppelinheim is pretty good and less hassle, but you might need a zoom lens. Also, check out the spotters' park near Runway West; it's popular and usually no trouble with security. Just avoid lingering too long in one spot by the fence. Good luck!

I've had the same issue at FRA. Security's always on their toes there. When I go, I try to stick to the designated spots like the viewing platform or the area near the fire station on the north side. If you do venture closer, always have your ID on you and be ready to explain what you're doing. There's a spot at the end of runway 25R that's decent, but it can be hit or miss with security. Anyone know if the cargo area is still a good spot?
