British Airways Flight to Nowhere: 45 Min Flight Takes 2 Hours!

So, did you guys hear about BA308 the other day? It was supposed to be a quick hop from London to Paris, but thanks to some crazy storms, it turned into a 2-hour flight that didn't even make it to Paris! They had to turn back to Heathrow. Can you imagine the frustration of the passengers?

London and Paris are usually a smooth connection with several flights a day, plus the Eurostar, so delays like this are pretty unusual. I guess it goes to show that even short flights aren't immune to weather issues.

I always thought the short flights between these cities seemed a bit redundant with the train, but I get the need for air travel too. It makes me wonder, how often do flights like these get affected by weather like this? And would you guys prefer flying or taking the train for such a short trip?

Plus, once you add in the time to get to the airport, check-in, security, etc., the train's just as quick for city center to city center.
