Spotting at Sydney (SYD) - Best Camera Settings for Rainy Days?

Hey folks, I was out spotting at Sydney Airport last weekend, and the weather was just plain miserable-non-stop rain! I'm trying to figure out the best camera settings for rainy conditions. All my shots looked kinda washed out and dull. I'm using a Canon EOS R6 with a 100-400mm lens.

I tried bumping up the ISO to compensate for the low light, but not sure if that's the way to go. Should I use a faster shutter speed to freeze the rain, or a slower one to capture the motion? Also, any tips on keeping the gear dry and fog-free would be awesome.

Has anyone had success in similar conditions? Would love to hear what's worked for you. Thanks!

Rainy days can be tricky! With the R6, cranking up the ISO is a good start, but balance it with noise reduction in post. Try around ISO 800-1600. I'd go with a faster shutter speed, like 1/1000, to freeze the rain. It adds a cool effect and keeps the planes sharp. For keeping your gear dry, I use a rain sleeve or just a plastic bag with a hole cut out for the lens. And silica gel packs in your bag help with fogging. Anyone else got tricks for rain?
