Air Peace loses big bucks due to groundhandling mess-ups

So, I just read that Air Peace, a Nigerian airline, is claiming they've lost about $42 million because their planes keep getting damaged by groundhandling companies. That's a huge chunk of change! Apparently, over the past year, three of their aircraft were seriously damaged. They've named Skyway Aviation Handling Company and Nigerian Aviation Handling Company as the culprits, saying there are about two incidents a year on average.

What blows my mind is that these companies agreed to pay for repairs - $3.8 million and $3.2 million for two of the planes - but there's no compensation for the revenue Air Peace lost while those planes were out of action. Seems like a raw deal, right? I mean, how do you even operate when your planes are getting dinged up so often?

I'm curious if anyone here knows more about how common this kind of damage is in the industry. Is it just bad luck for Air Peace, or is this a bigger issue with groundhandling companies in general? Also, what do you think airlines can do to protect themselves better from this kind of financial hit? It's gotta be a tough spot to be in. Would love to hear your thoughts!
