Hey everyone, just saw that Air France is holding onto their Airbus A318s until March 2027. That's an extra four months more than they planned. Honestly, I think it's kinda cool they're keeping the Baby Bus around a little longer. It's the smallest member of the A320 family and not many of them are flying around anymore. Air France is apparently the last airline using them for regular flights, which makes this even more interesting.
I guess they must have some good reason for keeping them in the air. Maybe it's about fleet flexibility or they just want to squeeze out a bit more life from these planes. Or maybe they just love the little guy!
Anyone know why the A318 isn't more popular? I mean, it seems like a decent aircraft, but maybe there's something about it that doesn't quite hit the mark for most airlines. Also, any guesses on what Air France will replace the A318s with when they finally retire them? Would love to hear your thoughts!
