Hey everyone, did you hear that Deir ez Zor in Syria is back on the map for flights? After 14 long years, they've started up domestic and international flights again as of August 5, 2026. Syrianair kicked things off with flights from Damascus and Kuwait - both are happening twice a week using A320-200 aircraft. Not long after, Jazeera Airways joined the party on August 8 with their own flights from Kuwait, also twice a week. They're using either A320-200Ns or A320-200s.
I think it's pretty big for the region to see this kind of connectivity return. It must be a real boost for the local economy and people living there. Plus, it's kind of cool that both Syrianair and Jazeera Airways are getting involved. Makes me wonder how big the demand is going to be for these routes.
