Spotting at Doha Hamad (DOH) - Best Lenses for Daylight Shots?

Hey folks, looking for some advice on lenses for shooting at Doha Hamad (DOH) during the day. I've got a trip planned there soon and want to make the most of the daylight hours.

I'm currently using a Canon EOS 90D and considering either the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L or the Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3. I know they have different strengths, but I'm torn.

Has anyone shot there and can share some insights? I'm thinking the shorter lens might be better for some tighter shots on the ground, but the longer reach of the Sigma could be perfect for those distant takeoffs and landings. Any thoughts on handling heat haze too?

I've shot at DOH a couple of times, and honestly, the Sigma 150-600mm is pretty handy for those long-distance shots. Doha's got some open areas where you can catch takeoffs and landings nicely, and the extra reach helps. Heat haze can be a pain, though. Best to shoot early in the morning or later in the afternoon when it's cooler. For ground shots, the 70-200mm is awesome. Maybe bring both if you can? It's a bit of a juggle, but you'll cover all bases.

I'd go with the Sigma 150-600mm for spotting at DOH. The extra reach is a game-changer for those runway shots and capturing aircraft in the distance. Heat haze is a pain, especially during midday, so try shooting early morning or late afternoon when it's cooler. Also, consider a polarizing filter to cut through some of that haze. I've had good luck with that combo at other similar airports. Just make sure you've got a steady hand or a tripod for those longer shots.
