Williamsport's Flights Vanish - Southern Pulls Out

So, I just read that Williamsport, PA is losing all its scheduled flights because Southern Airways is pulling out. Bummer for those folks who relied on it for travel. I guess they're saying goodbye to commercial air service for now. I think Southern was the last airline operating there, right?

It's kinda sad to see smaller airports losing out like this. Makes me wonder how passengers are going to adapt-are they going to drive further to catch a flight elsewhere? Or maybe they'll turn to other forms of transport.

This also got me thinking about how these smaller regional airports can survive if they keep losing carriers. It's gotta be tough to maintain operations without regular flights coming in. Maybe they need more incentives for airlines to stick around.

Anyone here familiar with the Williamsport area or have any insights on how other small airports have handled similar situations? Would love to hear your thoughts!
Yeah, losing Southern is a hit. Williamsport is gonna feel it for sure. These small airports have a rough time when the last airline leaves. Some folks might start driving to State College or Harrisburg for flights. Others might just ditch flying altogether and stick to road trips or trains. It's a shame because these airports are vital for local economies. Without flights, it's hard to justify keeping them running. They probably need better subsidies or partnerships to survive. Anyone know if there's been any talk about trying to bring in another carrier?
