So, Smartwings Slovakia is extending its charter flights from Bratislava to Dakar in 2026 using the Boeing 737 MAX 8. Flights start on October 2 and run through December 4. They're doing this for Hydrotour's vacation packages to Senegal. Pretty cool to see them use the 737 MAX 8 instead of the older 737-800. It gives them more range and flexibility over the long route, which is close to the MAX's limit. Plus, it's nice for travelers who'd rather not connect through another European hub.
These flights are mainly about getting people to the resorts along Senegal's Atlantic coast, not so much about visiting Dakar itself. Smartwings has done similar flights before, so it seems like they're just picking up where they left off a few years back.
I wonder how popular these flights will be with Slovak vacationers. Will the MAX 8 make a big difference in passenger comfort or not really noticeable on such a long flight? Also, anyone know if Hydrotour plans to expand this kind of vacation package to other destinations soon? Curious to hear what you all think!
