Hey all, just read that National Airlines is getting more GE engines - one GE90-110B and six CF6-80C2s. These are for their Boeing 777F and 747F cargo planes. Seems like a solid move since the GE90 powers all 777s, especially the freighter version.
I think it's pretty cool that they're sticking with GE for their cargo fleet. Those GE90s are beasts, and having them on your 777 freighters means serious reliability and power. And the CF6s for the 747Fs are tried and true workhorses.
Makes you wonder about National Airlines' plans. Are they expanding their cargo operations? Or maybe just refreshing their fleet? With air cargo still being a big deal, this seems like a smart investment.
Anybody know if this means they're retiring older engines or adding new planes entirely? Also, how do you think this affects their maintenance costs in the long run? Would love to hear your thoughts!
