Delta Axes 25 Transatlantic Routes - What's Up With That?

So I just read that Delta's cutting 25 transatlantic destinations. That's a big chop considering they're the second-biggest US airline for these routes. They've been flying to 61 airports across places like Europe, the Middle East, and parts of Asia and Africa over the last two decades. But I guess things are changing, as they always do in the airline world.
