So, I just read that Orlando might start flying those air taxis from the airport later this year. They're setting up something called a vertistop at Orlando International (MCO). Sounds like it's gonna be the first one in the U.S. Kinda wild to think about, right? Electric vertical takeoff and landing in Central Florida.
I mean, it sounds like something out of a sci-fi movie, but I guess we're getting closer to that reality. I'm curious how this is going to work with regular airport operations. Will they be flying over the same routes as helicopters, or will there be totally new paths? Also, how are they planning to handle safety and air traffic control with these things buzzing around?
Honestly, I'm not sure how soon we'll actually see this happening, but the fact that they're making plans is pretty cool. Anybody else think we'll actually see these air taxis in action by the end of the year? Or is this one of those 'fingers crossed' kind of deals? Let me know what you all think!
