What's up with Delta's new A321neo deliveries?

So, I've been reading about Delta Airlines finally getting their new Airbus A321neos. I think their first one just arrived recently and it's supposed to be part of a big fleet update. Anyone know how many of these they're getting in total? And what's the deal with them replacing older planes or just adding to the fleet?

I've read these A321neos are more fuel-efficient and have better cabins, which sounds pretty cool. But are they planning to use them on any specific routes? Maybe some new ones or just switching them out on existing ones?
