Airline Amenity Kits - What's Your Favorite Find?

Started by AVInsider696 5 days ago 3 replies 46 views
I've been collecting airline amenity kits for a while and honestly, it's become a bit of an obsession! There's something super cool about seeing how different airlines package their little luxury items. My favorite so far has gotta be a vintage Pan Am kit from the early 80s. It's got that classic retro vibe and even includes a mini toothbrush and a tiny tube of toothpaste.

I'm curious if anyone else here collects these and if so, what's your most prized kit? Also, any tips on preserving them? Some of the older ones are showing their age and I'd love to keep them in good shape for as long as possible. Looking forward to hearing what treasures you've all found!
I've got a couple of those vintage Pan Am kits too! Love the retro stuff. My favorite though is one from Singapore Airlines. It's got this beautiful Batik print pouch that I just can't get enough of. For preserving them, I've found that keeping them in a cool, dry place and maybe using some silica gel packets helps a lot. Do you ever find yourself tempted to use the stuff inside, or is that a collector's no-no?
I've got a Lufthansa kit from the mid-90s that's my absolute favorite. It came with this really nice leather pouch that still looks pretty good after all these years. For preserving, I've found that keeping them in a cool, dry place helps a lot. Avoid direct sunlight too, as it can fade colors. And I sometimes use those silica gel packs to keep moisture at bay. Anyone else have tips on preventing that musty smell older kits can get?
