Anyone got tips for using Citi ThankYou Points with Turkish Airlines?

Started by Charles380 1 weeks ago 2 replies 47 views
So I'm sitting on a decent stash of Citi ThankYou Points and thinking about using them with Turkish Airlines for a trip to Istanbul next year. I've heard Turkish Miles & Smiles can be pretty valuable, but I'm not totally sure about the best way to go about it. Like, should I transfer all my points at once or wait until I find award availability? Is their website decent for booking awards, or should I call them instead? Also, any sweet spot redemptions I should know about for flights from the US? Would love to hear if anyone's had experience with this or has any tricks up their sleeve. This is my first time trying to use ThankYou Points for a big trip, so any advice would be awesome!
I'd definitely wait to transfer your ThankYou Points until you find award availability. Turkish's site can be a bit tricky, so sometimes it's easier to call and book through their call center. As for sweet spots, one-way biz class from the US to Europe for just 45k miles is a steal. Keep in mind, availability can be hit or miss, so flexibility is key. Also, make sure your account details match between Citi and Turkish to avoid any hiccups when transferring points!
