French Soccer Team Flying on an ICE Deportation Plane?

Started by RFlores680 1 weeks ago 1 replies 63 views
So, I just read that the French men's national soccer team has been flying around North America on a GlobalX plane that's typically used for ICE deportation. They're based in Boston for the World Cup and have used this plane for at least three of their games so far. Honestly, I find it kinda odd. Can't they get a regular charter or something? Maybe it's just a good deal or availability thing, but it feels a bit weird.

I guess these planes are just aircraft like any other, but the context is what's throwing me off. I mean, it's not like the players are the ones being deported, but still...

Anyone know what might make a team choose a plane like this? Is it just a matter of logistics and what's available, or is there more to it? Also, curious if this type of thing happens often with sports teams or if it's just a one-off. What do you all think?
