So I just saw that Spirit Airlines is looking to auction off 27 of their planes for $630 million. Not sure what to make of this. Are they trying to raise cash for something else, maybe? Or is this just a way to streamline their fleet? I know some airlines are doing that to get rid of older or less efficient planes, but Spirit isn't exactly known for having the latest models anyway.
I wonder what kind of aircraft they're selling. Are they the older A319s or something else? And does anyone know who's interested in buying these planes? Could be other low-cost carriers or even charter companies, I guess.
It's a pretty big move for Spirit, considering how tight the competition is in the low-cost market. Maybe they're planning to upgrade or just focus more on their core routes? Who knows!
Anyone have more info or thoughts on why Spirit might be doing this? Or what this could mean for the airline's future? Would love to hear what you all think!
