So it looks like Trump's got himself a shiny new toy-a Boeing 747-8I, courtesy of Qatar. It's being used as Air Force One for now, but he's apparently got plans to park it at his presidential library in Miami someday. What do you guys think about a $400 million plane sitting at a library? I mean, it'd definitely make for an interesting display, but it's hard to imagine how practical that is.
I'm also kinda curious about the legal side of this. Can you just take a plane used for official government business and turn it into a museum piece? Seems like there's gotta be some red tape involved. Plus, isn't it a bit odd for a former president to put a foreign-gifted aircraft on display?
I'm all for cool aviation stuff being preserved, but this situation seems a bit unique, to say the least. Do you think it'll actually happen, or is this just another one of those things that'll never see the light of day? Also, how do you even maintain something like that just sitting there? Curious to hear your thoughts!
