EU's New Border System Causing Chaos at Airports?

Started by PHL380Nerd 2 weeks ago 2 replies 69 views
So I just read that the EU's new Entry/Exit System (EES) is already causing a bit of a mess at airports. Seems like the whole automated border control thing isn't going as smoothly as planned. Airports are dealing with long queues and a lot of stress. Ursula von der Leyen admitted there's still a lot to be done.

Honestly, it's not surprising. New systems always have kinks to work out, but you'd think they'd have a better handle on this before going live, right? I get that it's a massive undertaking, but travelers are already frustrated with airport hassles. Adding this on top doesn't help.

I'm curious if any of you have experienced these issues firsthand? Or maybe you work at an airport and have some insider thoughts on how they're handling it? Wondering how long it'll take before they get it all sorted out.
Yeah, I've been caught up in those long lines. It's frustrating when you're on a tight schedule. My friend works at an airport and said they're scrambling to adjust. The tech glitches and user errors are slowing everything down. I get that it's a big change, but it feels like they underestimated the initial chaos. Wonder how this will affect holiday travel. Anyone know if they're planning any quick fixes?
