Lufthansa's Long Love Affair with the 747 - What's Next?

So, I was reading about this one Boeing 747-200 that kinda sums up Lufthansa's whole journey with the jumbo jets. It's crazy to think how long they've been sticking with the 747s - they've flown pretty much all the major versions! Even now, they're still flying the 747-400s and the newer 747-8s for passengers. I guess Lufthansa really knows how to get the most out of these planes.

Honestly, it makes me wonder how long they'll keep them going, especially with all the talk about more fuel-efficient twinjets. The 747s are iconic, but they're not the cheapest to operate. Do you guys think Lufthansa will eventually phase them out completely? Or maybe they'll keep them around for special routes or something?

And another thing - it's kinda cool that Lufthansa is one of the few airlines still flying them. Makes me wonder what the future holds for the 747s in general. Are they going to become more of a niche thing, or will they make a comeback somehow? Would love to hear your thoughts on this!

I think Lufthansa will keep the 747s as long as they can, maybe for those flagship routes where they can fill up the plane. They're iconic, and passengers love them, but yeah, they're not cheap. With fuel efficiency being such a big thing now, the twinjets are hard to beat. I'm guessing if they phase them out, we might still see them in some kind of special service or for cargo. But who knows, maybe there's a chance for a niche comeback. What do you think?
